A downloadable game for Windows

Game Pitch:
What if Re-Zero and Slay the Spire had a baby? After a tragic mishap with Truck-kun, Ace finds herself in the world of Valoria, a land ruled by magical cards.

Context:
Well, I would bet good money that you always felt you could do better with the powers gifted to you in an isekai. The real question is, are you ready to prove it?

After Ace’s unfortunate demise in the real world, she wakes up and finds herself alone in an oddly fantastical world. Reincarnated as her original self, she wanders in confusion until she sees three magical, mysterious cards. What could it possibly mean? Then, seemingly out of nowhere, a voice calls out to Ace, describing themselves as ‘The One Up Above.’ Ace follows their instructions and learns about the land they call Valoria and the powerful cards that can be wielded. “The One Up Above” tells Ace there is a way back to her previous life; however, she has to fight and persevere to get there.

You play as Ace, an ordinary college student, to scavenge a new world and find what powers can be obtained. Struggle to collect a powerful deck consisting of cards with mysterious origins and push through to find a way back from this fantasy… that is, if there is even a way out. You can become a powerful entity with countless cards to collect, but beware, as the world can be just as cruel as it is rewarding.

How-to-play:
Using WASD for movement, collect cards to attack enemies and clear rooms. Scavenge through the level to improve your deck and find the boss. Good Luck!

Post-Mortem:
As we began designing our project, we became a little ambitious as we let our creativity run wild. Therefore, a lot of our initial design had to be modified, scrapped, or never made it into our prototype release.
We are particularly proud of the game's overall completion, we were able to get a lot of our concepts and game mechanics implemented which made our game come to life.  Something that I was particularly proud of were Ace's mechanics. As a group we had spent a majority of the time getting her animations and mechanics as ironed out as possible and it was all worth it in the end. Unfortunately, there are many areas our game lacks in, such as the number of cards we had hoped to implement, the number of rooms, the boss mechanics, and much more. Without these features our game feels incomplete and there isn't much room for replay-ability, which was a big goal we had hoped to achieve.  In the end, our group learned a lot, we studied and worked with animations, innovative ways to optimize memory, and how to combine each of our efforts into one complete product.
